The altitude of 1,680 m with Mandarfen guarantees the best trail conditions. Absolute snow, and until late spring, the trails at the high Pitztaler glacier (2,600 m) and at Rifflsee (2,280 m). Right next to the Nature House at Gach view (1,550 m) is the start of the very idyllic Hubertusallee trail. A little bit lower, in the district Piller is the entrance to Fuchsmoosloipe. The trail offers approximately 70 km and is the heart of any long-runner and nature lover. Parallel to the cross country run of winter hiking trails, for walking and walkers are cleared invite to relax.

Regardless of whether you prefer classic or skating style cross-country skiing – the panoramic views along this trail predominantly following the quaintly iced mountain river Pitze are simply stunning.

The newly installed Pitztal Glacier Cross-country Ski Center - in close vicinity to the Mittelbergbahn lift - offers professionally groomed Nordic skiing tracks for classic-style cross-country skiers and skaters.


So that everyone can find a cross-country trail ideally suited to their abilities, all routes are signposted with a special guide system. Apart from information regarding direction, trail length and trail speed it also shows the exact stages in kilometres. In this way, all cross-country skiers can check for themselves that they are sticking to their individual speed and pulse targets, as often specified by medical check-ups.
